How Should Starting-Battery Gas, Corrosion and Short-Circuit Risks Be Reviewed?

Starting batteries combine stored electrical energy, corrosive material and possible gas release. Site teams can document visible condition, while testing, disconnection and replacement remain qualified work.

A battery can show normal open-circuit voltage and still be unsafe or unable to crank the engine. The safety review begins with access, ventilation, physical condition, connections and evidence—not with tools placed across terminals.
