Why This Design: Elevators Must Evacuate, Remain Manageable and Avoid Overload

Hotel projects should not automatically place every elevator in the immediate backup tier. A more reliable approach defines priority cars, recovery order and operating limits, using time separation, grouping or delayed loading where needed to reduce starting demand.

Generator design must account for elevator starting transients, simultaneous priority loads, breaker selection and voltage-frequency stability. ATS testing should go beyond unloaded transfer and include regular drills with elevator control logic.
